The National Council on Educating Black Children has revised its widely distributed school-reform framework to involve many more players in education.

The modified guidelines, adopted this month, include new chapters designed to mobilize churches, colleges and universities, paraprofessionals, and providers of support services to improve the education of African-American children.

The council includes representatives of the National Alliance of Black School Educators, the National Urban League, teachers' unions, and other groups. For copies of its "Blueprint for Action," call (800) 878-9754.
