Abortion Counseling

The Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee last week approved a bill that would require government-funded family-planning clinics to inform their clients about all their reproductive options, including abortion.

The House last week passed the proposed "civil rights act of 1991" by a vote of 273 to 158, 17 votes short of the two-thirds majority needed to override a threatened veto by President Bush.
