Legislative Action

Campus Crime

The Senate passed legislation last week that would require colleges and universities receiving federal aid to provide students with information on campus crime and security. (See page 22.)

Disability Programs

HR 5337, S 2753
The House health and environment subcommittee on Sept. 13 approved legislation to reauthorize the Developmental disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act through 1994. The bill would authorize $93.9 million for personnel training and advocacy services for disabled students next year. A similar version passed the Senate on Aug. 2.

Head Start Reauthorization
HR 4151
The Senate last week approved legislation that would reauthorize and expand the Head Start program. The House passed a similar measure in May. (See this page.)
