The American Council for Drug Education has developed a manual to help schools implement anti-drug policies.

The program, which was developed with a grant from the U.S. Education Department, contains a videotape, a handbook for developing a drug-free school environment, and a trainers’ manual.

It also includes surveys that school officials can administer to students and parents to determine the level of drug use in their schools, and information about the legal rights of schools to enforce anti-drug guidelines.

“It is not enough to simply have a written statement that decries drug use,” said Lee Dogoloff, executive director of the acde

Copies of Drug Free Schools and Children: A Primer for School Policymakers, which includes the handbook, video, and training manual, are available for $40 each from the acde, 204 Monroe St., Rockville, Md. 20850.
