'Success Story' in South Carolina

Tracing what it calls "a success story of the education-reform movement,'' the May 2 issue of Newsweek describes the dramatic turnaround of a South Carolina high school.

In the last five years, test scores at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School "have zoomed upward--in one exam, from the 25th percentile to the 71st in a single year,'' according to the magazine's cover story.
