Sandra Jones

The newly created Carroll Center, a part of the Carroll School in Lincoln, Mass., has named Sandra Jones as its first director. The center will expand programs for teacher training, research, outreach services, and publishing of instructional materials. The 250-student school serves children, ages 7 to 19, with language-based learning differences.

Ms. Jones, 51, previously served as the Carroll academic dean and as the middle school principal of the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and Blind.

Angelo I. Amador

Angelo I. Amador has joined the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund as the education legislative analyst for the organization’s Washington office.

Mr. Amador, 31, formerly worked with the Equal Rights Center in Washington as a consultant on fair housing and lending.

The National Environmental Education & Training Foundation, located in Washington, has tapped Marcia P. Sward to serve as its senior director for education programs, which teach about the environment by including it in other subjects.

Ms. Sward formerly served as the executive director of the Mathematical Sciences Education Board of the National Research Council.

Kent D. Keel

Chancery Software, based in Burnaby, British Columbia, has appointed Kent D. Keel as the senior product manager for K12 Planet, a new school-to-home Web portal that allow parents and students to access grades, attendance records, the school calendar, homework assignments, and other information.

Mr. Keel, 41, previously served for six years as the executive director of information technology for the 26,200-student Kent, Wash., school district.
