Hello Charters & Choice readers!

My name is Arianna Prothero, formerly of WLRN-Miami Herald News in Miami, Fla., and I have just joined the Education Week team on the school choice beat. I’ll be covering charter schools, private schools, and home schooling on the pages of Education Week, in edweek.org, and right here on the Charters & Choice blog.

A little more about me: I most recently worked as a reporter and anchor for WLRN-Miami Herald News, a unique news partnership between South Florida’s largest daily newspaper, The Miami Herald, and its NPR affiliate, WLRN. I got my start in journalism at WFIU, the NPR affiliate in Bloomington, Ind., while earning a political science degree at Indiana University.

I’ve already been filing some stories for Charters & Choice, and I’m excited to be taking on this beat fulltime. I’m also excited to hear from you, the readers. Please follow me @AriannaProthero and tweet me story ideas, tips, and questions.
