If you can’t laugh at yourself, you might as well hang it up. And you’ve got to laugh with the students, too. There are some teachers who think that it’s against the law for you to smile or to laugh in class. Oh! You won’t have any control then. But sometimes kids just do the silliest things. It’s laughable, so you do....

I just plain have fun. I am totally unpredictable. You might come in here sometime when I’m up on top of a desk doing something.....

I guess teaching allows you to be creative. It’s never routine. It’s never boring. My mind is always going. And I like learning. I learn an awful lot as I’m helping my kids learn. I think that’s one of the best examples I can set for them. Wow, I didn’t know that! Hey, look at this! Teachers don’t know everything. We’re still learning all the time.
