TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A former teacher at Challenger Middle School accused of having a six-month-long sexual affair with a 13-year-old student, maintains he has an alibi for many of the dates in question.

Netzahaulcoy Ramos, 34, is currently on trial in Pima County Superior Court. He’s accused of six counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

The married father of three began an affair with the alleged victim on Dec. 31, 2003, and it lasted until June 9, 2004, according to prosecutors.

Ramos testified Tuesday that he spent New Year’s Eve attending a neighbor’s party with his wife, children and brother.

The day the girl claims they first had sex, Ramos said he was shopping for school supplies with his wife and then spent the rest of the day in the Phoenix area visiting his mother and others.

The girl said the last time she had sex with Ramos was on June 9 and it was at Ramos’ house.

Ramos has denied the girl ever visited his home.
