Fun With Forecasting
Meteorology is a science that kids take to with enthusiasm because it touches on a subject that is readily accessible to them – the weather. The Weather Channel Kids seeks to tap into this natural energy by offering lesson plans that focus not only on teaching the physical science behind the weather, but also on giving kids tools to understand the increasing eco-conscious world in which we live. Their Web site also has a number of games for challenging kids’ knowledge.
Lessons cover everything from watershed pollution to sun safety, and offer specific guides for students in the K-5th grade and more complex lessons for students in 6th-10th grades. Lesson plans are available upon registration, which is free.
