Demand and Supplies
As school budgets wane and teachers pay ever-growing amounts for paper, pens, and other classroom essentials (see page 16), several national Web sites have stepped up to provide some much-needed relief. Teachers create wish lists—including anything from crayons and markers to computers and money for field trips—and the sites match them with willing donors.
Through the organization Adopt-A-Classroom, teachers can nominate their classrooms to receive $500 donations.
Kids In Need Resource Centers, located throughout the United States, are supply stores where teachers can shop for free if their schools meet certain requirements.
