Classroom Connect, a provider of professional-development programs and Internet learning resources for K-12 education, is accepting nominations for the 2003 Internet Educator of the Year Award. Nominees enter regional contests—Northeast/ International, South, Central, and West—in which winners earn $1,000, Classroom Connect products, and the chance to become the national Internet Educator of the Year. The national winner receives an additional $5,000, Classroom Connect products, and recognition at the Connected Conference in New York City in the spring. PreK-12 teachers who successfully integrate the Internet into their classrooms may nominate themselves or colleagues. *November 1 IMPROVING EDUCATION
The University of Louisville seeks applications for the Grawemeyer Award in Education. Created to support ideas for improving education, the $200,000 prize is paid in five annual installments of $40,000. Applicants must submit books, technology projects, program initiatives, or other proposals.
