Established in 1952 as a private, nonprofit institution with the sole purpose of contributing to human well-being and the progress of society. The foundation has grant making interests in the arts, civic affairs, economic development, education, environment and human services. Grantmaking in the area of primary and secondary education is focused primarily within Cuyahoga County, Ohio, with emphasis on improving educational programs for low-income and minority youth, especially in the Cleveland Public Schools.
