mentoring

Generally refers to an arrangement or school program whereby an experienced teacher monitors the work of newer teacher and gives him or her feedback and support. Mentoring is often seen as crucial to new teachers' development and job satisfaction—and thus to the stability of the teaching force. The term can also refer to guidance and support given to a student by an adult or older student.
