Response to Intervention, an assessment-based, tiered instructional approach, is quickly gaining traction in many schools as a way to give students tailored support, particularly in early-grades reading. While the framework is intended to give teachers greater resources and increased discretion, many educators have expressed frustration that, in practice, RTI can be overly prescription and difficult to implement.
