Message From the Publisher

Dear Colleague,

As you may know, we’ve provided breaking news, analysis, and other K-12 resources for almost 25 years in the print pages of Education Week and Teacher Magazine, and for the last 10 years on edweek.org. If you’ve been one of our many long-time edweek.org users, you’ll know that we’ve continued to invest in our online offerings, even as access to the site has remained free. For instance, just last fall we relaunched edweek.org with easier-to-use navigation and new resources like the Education Counts database that resides in the Research Center. Other online-only resources include the Daily News, regular online chats, and our searchable archives.

The continued success of edweek.org requires that we begin asking our visitors to help support the site. Effective this fall, access to certain parts of edweek.org will no longer be freely accessible. For instance, most of the news and information that is available within the Education Week part of the site will require a print subscription to Education Week, or an individual online subscription to edweek.org.

We will also be offering site licenses for organizations with multiple users that wish to access edweek.org. If you would like information on site license options, please e-mail us at sitelicense@epe.org.

Over the next several months, we’ll use this site and the pages of our print publications to provide much more detail on these planned changes. If you have any questions in the meantime, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.
