Weeks after the abrupt withdrawal of a potential vendor, Oklahoma officials have steered past a potential crisis by reaching a deal with another company to deliver winter exams used to fulfill high school graduation requirements.

The state board of education on Oct. 17 entered into a contract worth $3.4 million with Dover, N.H.-based Measured Progress.

McGraw-Hill Education CTB, the company originally set to deliver the tests, recently withdrew from consideration in response to the state board of education's delay in approving its proposed contract. Oklahoma officials blamed CTB for not helping it avert a series of mishaps in its online assessments over the past two years.
