Revisiting Graduation Requirements and Diploma Options for Youth With Disabilities: A National Study
Students with disabilities have been offered fewer options for earning a high school diploma since 2002, concludes a study by a team of researchers at the National Center on Educational Outcomes at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
The report recommends that states clarify graduation requirements and diploma options for students with disabilities, strengthen student preparation for exit exams, if required, and conduct ongoing research on the outcome of these requirements.
The results of the study are based on an online survey that was sent to the state directors of special education in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
