Teen Contraceptive Use
Contraceptive Use Patterns Across Teens’ Sexual Relationships
More than half of teenagers engaging in sexual relationships have used contraception all of the time, according to a report by Child Trends, a Washington-based nonprofit organization that researches child and adolescent welfare, education, and health issues.
The report also found that nearly two-thirds of teenagers who had engaged in only one sexual relationship had used contraceptives all of the time, while about 50 percent of teens who had been involved in five or more sexual relationships since they had become sexually active reported using contraceptives all of the time.
The report examined data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health, a nationally representative study of adolescents.
