2007 School Food Report Card

Only 11 states have school food and beverage policies that apply to all grade levels and 21 states earned a nutritional rating of F, concludes a reportRequires Adobe Acrobat Reader by the Washington-based Center for Science in the Public Interest, a nonprofit advocacy group for nutrition and health.

The report found that Oregon and Kentucky were the only states to earn a rating of A-minus due to their regulations that all food and beverage items sold in K-12 schools during the school day must meet certain standards. The highest rating possible was an A.

Data was obtained for this report by evaluating school nutritional policies in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
