HARMONY, Pa. (AP) — A Butler County school district has banned tailgating before football games on school property. It's because someone brought alcohol to a gathering before Seneca Valley's first home game on Aug. 31.

Athletic director Greg Caprara says tailgating has gained momentum in the last couple of years and rowdy behavior has been a concern. But the ban was prompted when Jackson Township police found at least one adult with alcohol on school grounds before the home opener.

District spokeswoman Linda Andreassi (an-DRAY'-see) says a sign at the high school campus entrance advises people that alcohol is not allowed on school grounds, even though tailgating had been permitted.
