The son of the head of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association has been arrested in connection with what authorities said was a Columbine-style plot to attack his high school.

Joseph Nee, 18, a senior at the 1,200-student Marshfield High School in Marshfield, Mass., was arrested on Oct. 18 and charged with conspiracy to commit mass murder and promoting anarchy. He pleaded innocent and was held without bail, pending a hearing set for late last week.

An earlier tip from Mr. Nee had led to the Sept. 17 arrest of a 16-year-old friend in connection with the alleged plot, said Superintendent Thomas J. Kelly of the Marshfield schools.
