A new book, Violence in American Schools, edited by Delbert S. Elliot, Beatrtix A. Hamburg, and Kirk R. Williams, reviews the latest research on youth violence in schools and the school-based initiatives designed to prevent or reduce such violence. The 408-page book, published by Cambridge University Press, includes chapters written by experts from a range of disciplines, including public health, criminology, ecology, and developmental psychology.
